Sydney A. Rapp Land Surveying was started in 1940. For more than 75 years, we have been providing quality land surveying services to clients in the Connecticut area. We are a three generation family business and are dedicated to provide our clients with courteous, timely, and professional services. From Compass/chain, transit/tape and total station to the GPS receiver, the Rapp family has walked through every technical and legal advancement.




Sydney A. Rapp Sr. CE & LS (1906-1990)
Sydney A. Rapp Sr. born April 10, 1906. He graduated from Renseliere Polytechnical Institute class of 1930 and was the first generation surveyor and civil of the generation. He was appointed Danbury's city engineer in May 1940.In the early 1950's Sydney returned to the private sector to practice his professions. In 1955 he returned to his desk as Danbury's engineer.. His various posts included superintendent of both city public works department and the water department and by 1965, his appointment as city engineer was "for life". Among his engineering efforts was the downtown relocation of the Still River, a major flood control project steming from the disastrous flood of 1955. Sydney retired from a long career of public and private service in 1973.
Sydney A. Rapp, Jr. LS (1942-Present)
Sydney A. Rapp Jr. was born and raised in Danbury. Sydney graduated from Henrey Abbott Technical School in 1960 with a degree in archtechual drafting. He was later inducted to the Henry Abbot Technical hall of hame in 2013. He is the proud second generation of land surveyors. Sydney also served as a corporator/trustee of Union Savings Bank 1974-1995.

Zachary S. Rapp, LS 1975-present (Principal)
Zachary was born and raised in Danbury. Zachary graduted from Danbury High School in 1994. Zachary is the third generation licensed professional land surveyor in the family. Zachary will be pursuing licensure in the State of New York in 2017.
